This study looks at the percentage of children with food-induced anaphlyaxis who required more than one dose of epinephrine:

Bottom line...Always carry two doses of epinephrine where ever you go. It might just save your child's life!

We always carry 2 because sometime mistakes happen in emergencies even with the best of training. My son's teacher put the first dose in her thumb when trying to use it on him. I was so glad that we always have him wear 2, so that there wasn't a delay waiting for the second dose to arrive in this situation.
