What a great video! I think one of the best points is to talk with children that DON'T have food allergies and make them aware of the dangers as well. I've read stories of other kids watching out for the "food allergy kid" and see it in my own house, too. I think children have a special heart and they really want to protect each other.
Again, good video! Thanks for sharing. (And thanks for signing up on my Allergy Friends Blogroll at MustFollowRecipes. I hope it will be a good place for us to find support from other bloggers.)
I am the mom of 2 awesome boys. My youngest son has life-threatening food allergies to milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, and shellfish. Both kiddos also have seasonal and environmental allergies, eczema, asthma, and a vision impairment called Ocular Albinism. "Life is a journey, not a destination".
Each year in the US there are approximately 30,000 anaphylactic episodes, involving about 2,000 hospitalizations and 150-200 deaths due to anaphylactic shock.
These pictures only represent a handful of those who have died due to fatal food reactions. To learn more about each individual, please click on the slideshow below. My heart goes out to all of their loved ones!
