Funny, but So True!

I came across this blog yesterday, and it really had me giggling!  The author/artist draws cartoons based on experiences and conversations about food allergies to help spread awareness.  Great idea!

Here's a couple of her cartoons that really struck a cord with me...

Hello, have you checked your son for iron and zinc deficiency? Many patients with chronic folliculitis and furunculosis improve after supplementation with iron and zinc. You should strongly consider supplements even if he is not deficient BUT his serum iron and zinc levels are on the lower side of reference range. Also, ask your physician if he can be given 500-1000mg of Vitamin C everyday for a month. In one study, patients who had impaired neutrophil functions showed complete remission of furunculosis post-treatment with Vitamin C. You may do a neutrophil function test to see if the levels are low though it is not necessary as mega-dose Vitamin C therapy is not known to cause any side effects. Topical application of Virgin Coconut Oil for more than a month may help too.

I hope at least one of these solutions will work for your son. You can write to me here mairah_q@yahoo.com
